OBJECT STUDY

A single unbroken strand curves in a graduated oval, bead following bead like a rosary emptied of devotion and left to ornament alone. Fuller, rounder forms gather at the lower curve, tapering toward the nape where cord takes over—a rhythm of weight and pause.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS

Cast in silver dulled to a soft, umber-shadowed patina, each bead is melon-fluted and lantern-shaped, ribbed vertically like a small architecture of its own. A waxed black cord threads through their hollow centers, structural and quietly graphic against the metal. Closure is unceremonious: a knotted cord junction at the nape, no clasp, no hinge—fiber tied against fiber, adjustable and intimate. Age shows in the beads themselves, cracked and softened at their edges.
