OBJECT STUDY

Substantial signet-form ring in nickel silver, surface carrying a matte, abraded patina with visible micro-scratching across the shoulder planes. The shank widens dramatically toward the bezel, forming a trapezoidal shoulder profile visible in profile view. A large oval black onyx cabochon sits flush within a plain bezel setting, its surface achieving high gloss with zero visible inclusions or surface fracture. Stone presents as uniformly opaque, jet black. The bezel rim shows minor tooling irregularities consistent with hand-formed construction. Underside of the ring face retains darker oxidation pooling in the recessed cavity behind the stone. Wear is distributed evenly across contact surfaces, suggesting sustained use.
