OBJECT STUDY

Hotch Kiss Low-rise flare cut in bleached denim, washed to a near-ash grey-white. Vertical streaking across the fabric face reads as natural warp tension rather than deliberate treatment. Contrast stitching throughout — dark charcoal thread against pale ground — traces every seam with unusual visibility. Two small pin-tear distress points sit on the left knee, unrepaired, edges beginning to fray outward. Interior waistband lined in flat mint green fabric, a chromatic rupture against the neutral shell. The interior label reads "Hotchkiss by jm" in hand-drawn embroidered lettering — irregular, marker-like character strokes in near-black thread. A secondary orange care label protrudes from the left waistband loop, woven with care symbols. The branded shank button carries circular text, oxidized to a matte pewter finish.
