OBJECT STUDY

SWEET CAMEL Black denim, washed to a degraded charcoal-grey. The fade is uneven — thigh panels pull toward ash while the inseam and leg backs retain deeper saturation. Vertical streaking visible throughout the weave, a byproduct of the wash process rather than mechanical distressing. Front presents pronounced horizontal creasing across the hip yoke, consistent with wear memory. A small red tab at the right waistband interior identifies the label: Sweet Camel, a French mid-market denim house active from the 1990s onward, known for European-cut silhouettes. The closure hardware is an engraved single shank button — oxidized silver tone. Rear carries a small woven logo patch on the right pocket. Stitching throughout is amber-toned against the dark ground. Silhouette is a low-rise bootcut, the flare beginning below the knee and opening with moderate, controlled sweep.
