OBJECT STUDY

Carhartt double-knee carpenter pant in sun-faded army olive duck canvas, surface entirely overtaken by accumulated paint event. White, burnt orange, cadmium red, and yellow-green — applied in overlapping sessions of splatter, drag, and brush wipe. The back pockets bear the densest layering: thick white passages brushed horizontally across the right pocket, the embossed leather Carhartt patch centered and undisturbed amid the accumulation. A secondary cargo pocket sits mid-thigh on each leg. The stamped metal Carhartt button at center front shows oxidation consistent with extended use. Belt loops retain original stitching. Hem is raw-cut and heavily frayed — a terminal edge, not a designed one. Paint has stiffened select areas of the leg, altering drape. The olive ground reads through only at the waistband interior and along the inseam — everywhere else, the canvas has become secondary to the record of labor it absorbed.
