Code: CAP5
A black 6-panel cap from the legendary Japanese label founded by Takahiro Miyashita in 1997, the brand name itself extracted from the Beatles' Revolution 9. The shell is constructed from a subtly textured black fabric with a faint diagonal weave pattern visible under scrutiny. A gunmetal rectangular buckle at the rear strap provides size adjustment, its matte finish refusing ostentation. The dome maintains a structured silhouette with a central button at the apex. Miyashita's aesthetic universe, forged in the Harajuku backstreets and refined on Paris runways from 2004 to 2009, channeled the ghosts of Kurt Cobain, Axl Rose, and Bob Dylan into garments that occupied the liminal space between grunge nihilism and tailored precision. This cap is a fragment of that universe: minimal, monochromatic, and deliberately unbranded on the exterior, speaking only to those who recognize its provenance. Number (N)ine ceased its original iteration in 2009 when Miyashita departed on the anniversary of Cobain's death, rendering all authentic pieces archival by definition.
