OBJECT STUDY

An open crescent hangs suspended on black cord, its horn-shaped terminals curling inward like tusks mid-gesture. The hollow center draws the eye through rather than across—a void deliberately preserved, a mouth left open in silence. Brass has surrendered its shine to a soft, weathered patina.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS

The body is cast entirely in brass, its torque-like curve built from cylindrical mass rather than flat plate. Clustered pellet-work and a bezel-set cabochon mark secondary passages along the collar, where a rough, unfaceted stone sits cloudy and uneven. Chipped edges and softened engraving trace the alloy's long exposure to wear. The cord is a modern intervention: waxed black cotton, braided and knotted in thick coils where it meets metal, binding an aged silhouette to present-day handling.
