SURFACE LANGUAGE

NUMBER (N)INE archival. Takahiro Miyashita's label — active 1997 through 2009 — built its entire design language around deconstructed rock references, and the house logo on the front of this tee is the signifier collectors track the brand by. Boxy oversized cut at 126cm chest, short sleeve drop, length held at 66cm.

Post-2009 the label was absorbed into the continuing Miyashita canon that now runs through TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist and NUMBER (N)INE Denim. Clean surviving examples of the original mainline have thinned out considerably since the shutdown. This one reads as a wearable archival logo piece rather than a distressed runway print.
