SURFACE LANGUAGE

An act of violent amputation. This denim vest is clearly a jacket that has had its sleeves forcefully removed, leaving frayed, aggressive armholes that document the alteration. It is a classic subcultural staple.

The heavy indigo denim is faded at the stress points, carrying the ghost of its previous life. The raw edges at the shoulder invite further fraying with wear, making the garment a continuously evolving artifact.
