SURFACE LANGUAGE

This structural element presents a band of paired skulls facing each other in mirrored confrontation, their craniums polished to a bright silver while the eye sockets and nasal cavities are excavated to pure black void. Between each skull pair, textured bone-like connectors simulate spinal segments with a stippled, porous surface that reads as fossilized matter. The skulls are anatomically detailed with defined cheekbones, brow ridges, and jawlines cast in high relief. The continuous repetition of the motif creates a visual rhythm around the band, each unit reading as a single vertebra in a longer skeletal chain. Heavy patina in the recesses gives the hardware an archaeological quality, as though pulled from an ossuary.
